Providing solar installation across Ventura County
Why Ventura County Is Perfect for Solar
Ventura County's Mediterranean climate delivers over 280 sunny days per year, making it one of the best regions in California for solar energy production. The county's mix of inland valleys and coastal communities means solar conditions vary — inland cities like Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks see hotter temperatures and more intense sun, while coastal areas like Oxnard and Ventura benefit from moderate temperatures that keep panels operating at peak efficiency.
SCE and NEM 3.0 in Ventura County
Nearly all of Ventura County is served by Southern California Edison (SCE), which operates under California's NEM 3.0 net metering framework. Under NEM 3.0, the value of exported solar energy has decreased compared to the previous program, making battery storage an increasingly important component of any new solar installation. We design systems that pair solar panels with battery storage to maximize your savings by storing daytime energy for evening peak-rate hours (4–9 PM) when SCE charges the most.
Fire Zones and Special Requirements
Ventura County has significant wildfire risk, particularly in communities bordering the Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and the Los Padres foothills. Homes in fire hazard severity zones — common in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Ojai — require solar installations with additional setbacks from roof edges, ridgelines, and valleys. Equipment placement must also meet fire access requirements. We design every system to comply with these requirements while maintaining strong energy production.
